Community Benefits Grant Application 2026-2027
The Community Benefits Grant is a collaborative initiative between Calpine Community Energy and Desert Community Energy (DCE). Launching for the first time in 2026, this annual program provides funding to nonprofit organizations that advance education, research, equity, and community engagement in energy, environmental, and sustainability efforts across DCE’s service area. Funding for the 2026 program is $11,000; the grant will be distributed among 2-3 awardees.
The 2026-2027 application period opens on May 15, 2026. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on June 26, 2026.

Eligible Applicants: 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organizations Serving the City of Palm Springs
This program will provide grant funding to local nonprofit organizations advancing energy, sustainability, and community-focused initiatives. This annual program supports organizations across DCE’s service area—particularly those serving Palm Springs—that are leading efforts in education, research, workforce development, and environmental and social justice.
These grants are designed not only to provide critical financial support, but also to empower local organizations to expand their reach, strengthen their programs, and deliver meaningful impact within their communities.
